with the New York Jets Sheldon Richardson Jersey , until off-the-field trouble and locker-room conflict precipitated his eventual departure.Guided by some important gains in maturity, Richardson has found a niche two stops later in Minnesota. This weekend, when the Vikings visit the Jets, he'll have his first opportunity to vent any bad feelings with a winning performance against his old team for trading him.As outspoken as Richardson has been at times, this was not a subject he was willing to touch when reporters asked him about his return to MetLife Stadium to face the Jets on Sunday afternoon."Another game. I never put myself above the team," Richardson said. "Whatever personal vendetta I have is between me."As for the deal that sent him to Seattle for the final year of his rookie contract, right before the 2017 regular season?"It's a business," said Richardson, who played one season for the Seahawks, became a free agent and signed a one-year deal with the Vikings .Richardson played up to his first-round draft pick status by winning The Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year award in 2013. Then he had a career-high eight sacks and was picked for the Pro Bowl in 2014, the last season under coach Rex Ryan before Todd Bowles took over.Richardson served a four-game suspension in 2015, though, for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. He also was suspended for the 2016 season opener for an arrest in his home state of Missouri for driving at high speeds and resisting arrest. Then there was his conflict with wide receiver Brandon Marshall and the public criticisms he expressed that contributed to some bad team chemistry."I did some things for me to get out of there for them to trade me," Richardson said, "and other than that I put it on myself, nobody else."Richardson continued his candid reflection before practice on Wednesday, acknowledging the character development he has undergone."It was kind of self-inflicted wounds," he said. "It's just now me overcoming my personal battles in life. They got me out of there, and that changed everything around there. That's pretty much it. I pretty much grew from everywhere. Every point Cheap Stefon Diggs Jersey , every phase of my life, I grew from it."Richardson had only one sack last year for the Seahawks, his first season in a primarily 4-3 scheme after playing in a 3-4 system with the Jets that saw him playing some at outside linebacker. With the Vikings, Richardson has settled in nicely at the three-technique position next to Linval Joseph. He has only one sack, but less-tangible contributions in pass pressure and run disruption are more important to making coach Mike Zimmer's system work. Richardson is tied for eighth in the NFL with 10 quarterback hits, and there's no coincidence that defensive end Danielle Hunter is thriving off his presence inside taking on frequent double-teams."I've been really impressed with Sheldon. Not just his play, but the way he's come in here and tried to learn the techniques we're trying to teach him," Zimmer said. "His professionalism, how he handles himself in the meetings, he's been really good with everything."Jaguars at Vikings Preseason 2018: Second Half Open Thread If there was one word to describe the first half of action between the Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars at U.S. Bank Stadium, that word would be “sloppy.” The half was filled with penalties by both teams and overall bad playNeither team accomplished much on their first drive. The Vikings picked up one first down on a Jacksonville penalty, and the Jaguars went three-and-out on their first possession after both Mackensie Alexander and Anthony Barr had an opportunity to intercept the same Blake Bortles pass. The Vikings’ second drive featured numerous penalties (on both teams) and some generally sloppy play, but the purple got themselves into position for Kai Forbath (who will apparently handle field goals today) to attempt a 44-yard field goal. Forbath split the uprights, and the home team took an early 3-0 lead. The teams then exchanged turnovers on back-to-back plays. Harrison Smith got an interception of Blake Bortles to set the Vikings up deep in Jacksonville territory. However, on the first play of the next Minnesota drive, Latavius Murray fumbled for the second time in the quarter, with Calais Campbell recovering for the Jaguars.Jacksonville pushed into Minnesota territory on their next drive, and a couple of screen passes from Bortles to T.J. Yeldon gave the Jaguars a first-and-goal at the Minnesota 5-yard line. A delay of game penalty moved Jacksonville back five yards, and Danielle Hunter sacked Bortles for another five-yard loss. Bortles scrambled down to the 1-yard line on third-and-long http://www.vikingscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-brett-jones-jersey , and the Jaguars had a 4th-and-1 from the 1-yard line. Jacksonville went for it on the first play of the second quarter, and Leonard Fournette took it over the goal line for the score. The extra point was good, and Jacksonville took a 7-3 lead.Minnesota went three-and-out on their next drive, with the offense continuing to look unimpressive against a stout Jacksonville defense. The Jaguars answered with a three-and-out of their own against Minnesota’s second-string defense, and that was it for Kirk Cousins and the offensive starters for the Vikings, as Trevor Siemian led the offense onto the field.Mike Boone got things off to a nice start for the Vikings’ #2 offense, as he got three carries for 34 yards to start the drive. However, the drive stalled and the Vikings called on Kai Forbath to attempt a 41-yard field goal. The veteran’s kick bounced off the right upright and fell no good, keeping the score at 7-3.The injury bug hit the Vikings again as well, as rookie defensive end Ade Aruna suffered what appears to be a significant right leg injury and had to be carted off the field. When we get word on the extent of the injury, we’ll bring you an update. There wasn’t much more to talk about for the rest of the first half, and we go into the locker room at halftime with the road team leading 7-3.It was an ugly first half for the Minnesota offense. Kirk Cousins went just 3-of-8 for 12 yards, and the offense overall went 0-for-6 on third down. Trevor Siemian didn’t fare much better, completing 3-of-7 passes for 23 yards.Hopefully the Vikings can pick things up significantly in the second half and some of the younger players will make an impression. For now, however, the Vikings trail the Jaguars by a score of 7-3 at U.S. Bank Stadium.
